In a virtual conference focusing on the inauguration of renewable energy development and expansion of oil production in East Java, Prabowo underscored Indonesia’s proficiency in energy generation and the reduction of logistical expenses. He stressed the critical role of energy independence in Indonesia’s quest for national sovereignty, outlining the government’s strategy of initiating 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to deliver clean and reliable energy throughout the vast archipelago.
Furthermore, President Prabowo appreciated the collaborative efforts of various ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in facilitating Indonesia’s energy transition. While recognizing the country’s substantial oil and gas reserves, he highlighted the significance of renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities across Indonesia. Prabowo expressed confidence in Indonesia’s future, envisioning solar energy as a beacon of hope for rural areas, districts, regencies, and remote islands.
